Welcome to Furgent Care. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our website (furgentcarevet.com), our online check-in, resources, tools, and any related services we provide. By using our website or services, you agree to these Terms.
If you don't agree, please don't use our website or services.
1. About Furgent Care
Furgent Care is a walk-in veterinary urgent care clinic serving Virginia Beach and the Hampton Roads area. We provide same-day, non-life-threatening veterinary care during posted hours. Our website offers information about our services, an online check-in tool, an AI symptom assistant, pricing details, and ways to contact us.
Important
Furgent Care is not a 24/7 emergency hospital. If your pet is experiencing a true emergency including collapse, seizures, severe trauma, suspected poisoning, severe bleeding, difficulty breathing, or any life-threatening condition, go directly to a 24/7 emergency veterinary hospital. Do not wait, and do not rely on our AI assistant or website information.
2. Medical Information Disclaimer
Information on our website including blog posts, FAQs, the tools, resources and pricing pages is provided for general educational purposes only. It is not a substitute for in-person veterinary examination, diagnosis, or treatment by a licensed veterinarian.
Always rely on the in-person judgment of a licensed veterinarian when making decisions about your pet's health.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use our online check-in, schedule services, or otherwise transact with Furgent Care. By using our services, you confirm that you meet this requirement or are using our services with the supervision of a parent or legal guardian.
4. Authorization to Make Medical Decisions
By bringing a pet to Furgent Care, you represent that you are the legal owner of the pet or are authorized by the legal owner to make medical decisions on the pet's behalf, including decisions about diagnostics, treatments, hospitalization, and end-of-life care if necessary. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide about your pet's history, medications, and known allergies.
5. Online Check-In
Our online check-in tool helps reduce wait times but does not guarantee an appointment or specific arrival time. Walk-in availability depends on caseload and we reserve the right to triage cases by medical urgency rather than arrival order. If you fail to arrive within a reasonable time after checking in, we may release your spot to other patients.
6. Payment, Estimates, and Cost of Care
Payment is due at the time services are rendered. We accept all major credit cards, CareCredit financing. We do not bill insurance directly but will provide the documentation you need to submit a claim to your pet insurance provider.
For non-routine diagnostics or treatments, we provide a written, good-faith estimate before proceeding. Estimates are not guarantees actual costs may vary based on your pet's condition. We will not perform diagnostics or treatments outside an approved estimate without your additional consent, except in cases where waiting could cause imminent harm to your pet.
You authorize us to charge the payment method you provide for services performed. If a payment is declined or reversed, you agree to pay any reasonable costs of collection, including attorney fees.
7. Pet Medical Records
Medical records created during treatment at Furgent Care are the property of Furgent Care. You have the right to request copies of your pet's records at any time, free of charge. With your consent, we will share records with your regular veterinarian or any other care provider you designate.
8. Intellectual Property
All content on our website including text, images, logos, designs, illustrations, AI assistant outputs, and the overall look and feel is owned by Furgent Care or our licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission, except for personal, non-commercial use.
"Furgent Care" and the Furgent Care logo are trademarks of Furgent Care.
9. Acceptable Use
When using our website or services, you agree not to:
Use our site for any unlawful purpose
Submit false, misleading, or impersonating information during online check-in or otherwise
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the website or our systems
Interfere with the security or normal operation of the website
Use automated tools to scrape, copy, or harvest content
Upload viruses, malware, or harmful code
Use the AI assistant or any other feature for non-veterinary, illegal, or harmful purposes
Harass, threaten, or harm any person or animal
10. Third-Party Services and Links
Our website may link to third-party websites or use third-party services including payment processors, scheduling and records software, financing providers like CareCredit and Scratchpay, AI tools, and analytics. We are not responsible for the content, security, or practices of those services. Your use of any third-party service is governed by its own terms.
11. Disclaimers
Our website and services are provided "as is" and "as available." Except as required by law, we make no warranties of any kind express or implied including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, reliability, or non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the website will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.
We do not warrant that any AI-generated information is accurate, complete, or current. Any reliance on AI output is at your own risk.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Furgent Care and its veterinarians, staff, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of our website or services. This includes damages for lost profits, lost data, business interruption, or pet health outcomes that result from reliance on website or AI information rather than in-person veterinary care.
Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for the actual veterinary care we provide in person, which is governed by Virginia veterinary practice standards and applicable law.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Furgent Care, its veterinarians, staff, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorney fees) arising out of:
Your use of the website or services
Your violation of these Terms
Your violation of any law or third-party right
Any false or misleading information you provide during online check-in or treatment
14. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to our website at any time, with or without notice, if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive — including disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnification, and governing law — will continue to apply.
15. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from or related to these Terms or your use of our services will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
